This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to the NovaBeautix consumer app. It is provided for residents of Washington, Nevada, and other places with consumer health data laws (such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act), and for everyone else who wants this detail. NovaBeautix is a cosmetic and personal-care service and does not provide any clinical or medical indication; we nevertheless treat the information below with the care that health-related information deserves.
1. Consumer health data we collect, and why
- Skin photos and Skin Insight results (images you choose to submit, and metrics derived from them, which may include face images): to provide the Skin Insight analysis you request, show your progress, and adapt your cosmetic routine.
- Skincare-related answers you choose to give (for example skin type and concerns, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, recent cosmetic procedures, medication that affects the skin, or an implanted device such as a pacemaker): to apply safety rules so that we do not suggest routines, ingredients, or devices that may not suit your situation. These answers are optional, but without them we cannot apply those safety rules.
- Voice commands (only if you use hands-free voice): transcribed by your device’s operating system to control your ritual. The app does not save audio.
We do not collect data about your location for the purpose of health services, and we do not use geofencing.
2. Sources
We collect this data directly from you, through the app. Skin Insight metrics are produced by our analysis provider from the photo you submit.
3. Consent
Before your first Skin Insight, the app asks for your consent to send your photo for analysis. Saving your photos is a separate, optional choice that is off by default. You give the safety-related answers voluntarily, for the specified purpose above. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (in the app: Profile → Privacy and permissions → Request account and data deletion), or by contacting us.
4. Sharing, and categories of third parties
We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it only to service providers that process it on our behalf and under contract, to provide the app you requested:
- Cloud hosting, storage, authentication, and messaging providers (Google Cloud / Firebase);
- A skin-analysis provider (Perfect Corp.), which receives the photo you submit and returns analysis results;
- Generative-AI providers (Google), which receive text and routine context needed for assistant answers and explanations, but not your name, e-mail address, or photos;
- Error-diagnostics and security providers (Sentry), which receive technical information linked to your account identifier;
- Authorities, where required by law.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may confirm whether we collect your consumer health data and request access to it, a list of the third parties and affiliates it was shared with, deletion, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion option or write to privacy@novabeautix.com. We will respond within the time required by law and will tell you if we decline a request and how to appeal.
6. Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest and access is restricted (see our Privacy Policy, section 4A). By default, skin photos and the images derived from them are deleted as soon as the analysis finishes; we keep scores and written insights. If you choose to save your photos, they are kept until you turn the option off or delete your account and are deleted automatically three years after upload. Other information is kept as described in our Privacy Policy.
